CAS Program

The CAS program is a core requirement of the International Baccalaureate diploma, but at AIC it is available to all students.  CAS stands for ‘Creativity, Activity and Service’, and that is exactly what the students do, through a wide range of activities during the afternoon on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.  There are currently 45 different CAS activities, ranging from Origami, Batik and Traditional Chinese arts and crafts (Creativity), through football, Kung Fu and dance (Activity), to animal hospital, countryside volunteering and student council (Service).  A selection of photos from our activities are below.

The CAS program aims to have students address 7 learning outcomes, which they then use to reflect upon their experiences and how they have improved in the abilities described on the IB learner profile.

The 7 learning outcomes of CAS are:

1.  Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

2.  Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

3.  Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

4.  Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

5.  Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

6.  Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

7.  Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
