Advanced Placement (AP) Program

Advanced Placement (AP) Program offers college-level curriculum and testing to high school students. The AP gives students the chance to tackle college-level work while they are still in high school. Through taking the AP exams, students can earn college credit and placement. AP prepares them for higher education and success.

The AP Program at AIC is comprised of six subject groups, learning skills, holistic education, and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service). The AP program allows students to pursue subject-specific interests at the university level of study, problem solving skills, independent researching ability, and great leadership to organize and cooperate. Students can also choose courses in Biology, Environmental Science and Societies, Music, and Drama through our IBDP program. These students will qualify for IB Courses and will receive a certificate from the IBO for completing these courses.

We offer the following AP subjects:

  • Group 1 (First Language): Chinese Language, English Language and Composition,Literature and Composition,
  • Group 2 (World Languages): Chinese Language and Culture, Japanese Language and Culture, German Language and Culture, Spanish Language and Culture
  • Group 3 (History& Social Sciences): Psychology, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, US History
  • Group 4 (Sciences): Chemistry, Physics 1 (Algebra-Based), Physics 2 (Algebra-Based), Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism, Physics C: Mechanics 
  • Group 5 (Mathematics): Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Computer Science
  • Group 6 (The Arts): Art and Design Program

Additional: Students can also choose courses in Biology, Environmental Science and Societies, Music, and Drama through our IBDP program. These students will qualify for IB Courses and will receive a certificate from the IBO for completing these courses.
